EDATA Market Data Feeder
EDATA Market Data Feeder - EMDF is a one-way data feed that is a component of the automated trading system. It is used to disseminate the best market, market depth and trade information in the form of data feeds as well as bulletins and state changes to allow data vendors to: • Display real-time (Or time–delayed) market data to their customer base. • Populate the ETP database warehouse with historical data.

High Availability
In the event of an unrecoverable failure of EDATA trading system, the Remote Client Application (RCA) will lose connection abnormally. As with other abnormal disconnection, the RCA must perform appropriate processing to clean up the previous connection. The Exchange will notify the user community that a fail –over to backup system is in progress.

Sequencing
The EMDF assigns a unique sequence number to each message it sends out during a session, starting at one (1) the first message and ascending incrementally with each subsequent message (2, 3, 4,…) In the event of a broken connection, high availability, or recovery, the EMDF is restarted .the sequence number will begin again at one (1) unless the EMDF is configured to store the sequence number between session.

  Recovery
If it is deemed that the production system has experienced a failure that requires the rollback of the database and for the system be recovered by replaying of EDATA trading System. The RCA must perform appropriate processing to clean up the previous connection's local operating system resources. The exchange will notify the user community that a system recovery is in progress.

Retransmission
When the EDMF is configured to log each message; the message may be the client program in the event of broken connection. If a message has not been delivered to the client program's TCP/IP buffer then the EMDF will retransmit the missed message.
